Interrogaciones acerca del movimiento ecológico y la naturaleza del poder social, Alejandro Rojas
Abstract
This paper focusses on the nature of social power and on the challenges that the actual processes of power concentration represent for the ecological movement. Social power is seen as a phenomenon that is present in all human relationships. It is a form of energy and information that flows from human relationships and manifests itself by influencing the individual and group strategies applied to meet their needs. In other words, social power is the capacity of some to influence the process by which others try to adapt themselves to the environment (natural and social) on their own behalf. The main concern of the paper is the obstacles that the ecological movement faces and the conditions that would facilitate its take-off
